The Planets This Week 2/24/20

Happy New Moon in Pisces! Yesterday was a great opportunity to set new creative intentions for our year. However, with Mercury in retrograde, our manifestations can be complicated in areas of commerce or travel. This is therefore a good new moon (today is the Witch’s new moon, when the first sliver of the waxing crescent is visible) to set intentions around creativity or brainstorming a new path.

Sometimes, I think of Mercury retrograde is the winter of our thought process, especially as it relates to the Tropical/Seasonal sign system. This isn’t the time of direct action or communication, but rather, the time to dream, brainstorm, and plan. Use this lunar cycle to go through what you plan to do with the rest of the year, take stock of what you want, and prepare to implement it with the new moon in Tropical Aries coming up next month when Mercury is out of retrograde (it will be in post-shadow, but 1, that’s a subject for next month, and 2, post-shadow retrograde is more like a clean-up and the easiest part of Mercury retrograde for 99% of people).

As we speak, the moon is passing over Neptune, which should strengthen dream spells this month. So tonight is a great night to sleep with some lavender under your pillow and guide yourself to receive downloads from dreams.

The moon will pass over Chiron and Venus this week, illuminating our deepest wounds and our brightest pleasures. With the moon passing over Chiron in temperamental Aries, beware of conflicts around old issues, or arguments that are stand-ins for childhood wounds or unaddressed trauma. The good news is that once it travels over Venus, these arguments can easily be smoothed over with some constructive physical activity, like going for a walk, a really good workout, or since Spring is coming, starting the garden (if it’s warm enough – weather here in the Midwest is a little unpredictable, so I can’t say if planting weather is here early or not.

The Bundle Chart

From the middle of last week to about Friday or Saturday (when the moon passes over Uranus in early Taurus), every planet is located from early Capricorn to early Taurus, secure in what astrologers call a “bundle chart.” A bundle chart is when all planets are located within 120 degrees of the 360-degree zodiac wheel, or in a third or less of the chart. People born with bundle charts have specific purposes in this life that they have come to fulfil; it’s common in the charts of star seed, indigo, crystal, and rainbow children.

In transit, it means there’s a specific focus going on in the world right now. In the wake of the major conjunction and eclipse we had in January, plus the bundle being right on the end and the beginning of the zodiac, it’s this year’s continuations of wrestling with endings and beginnings. With mercury retrograde, we are generally called on to ask ourselves how we can build a better life.

In your own chart, see which houses this bundle is covering. You may find issues that need to be taken care of cropping up more in these areas of your life. And especially as the moon passes over Mercury, as discussed last week, they will most likely show up in whatever house Mercury is travelling retrograde through.
