The Ides of March

We don’t need to keep saying this. March is an energy shift this year. The sun changes sign once a month, the moon moves its way around the zodiac, and Mercury and Venus usually change sign once a month, retrogrades aside. This month, we’ve got Saturn, who just entered Pisces, Pluto, who will enter Aquarius around the Spring Equinox – when the sun and this year, Mercury, will change sign. Mars will also change sign at the end of the month, going into his least favorite sign.

In the middle of the week, we will have an exact square from Mars in Gemini to a Sun/Neptune conjunction in Pisces. The numerology of their degrees, 25, adds up to 7, the same number as the universal year.

With the second-biggest bank run that just happened affecting a chunk of tech companies and startups, (also a conversation a couple weeks ago with some medium colleagues), I’m watching this space like a hawk, particularly the 16th. Forgive me if I sound like a rambling mess – there’s a lot going on.

I projected the open of business of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) given the financial nature of current events and never-ending talk about a recession looming. Here’s what I found.

Beware the Ides of March?

On March 15-16 this year, Mercury, Neptune, and the sun will be right on top of each other at 24-25 degrees of Tropical Pisces. This would be an amazing time for creative endeavors, artistic communication, and dreams and subconscious work. However, there’s one little red, angry problem …

Hello, Mars!

Mars will be at 25 degrees Gemini, exactly square the stellium in Pisces. This suggests one of two things depending on how this square is hitting your chart: it will be a challenge to access your energy because you lack it, or you’ll be wasting it on nonsense like anger and pity parties.

Looking at the open of the NYSE, Mars will be in the second house and Taurus is rising. Both placements speak about finances and possessions and Gemini can create a feast or famine duality when it comes to movement. Bonus points: Gemini is also squaring Mercury who is a degree away from cuddling up to the sun/Neptune conjunction in the 11th house. Expect arguing among colleagues and a lot of shouting and tears in corporate boardrooms.

People will either freeze up on the stock exchange floor, not knowing what to do, or they’ll take swift action. The problem is, with the square to three planets in Pisces, what to do could be unclear.

Pluto on the MC

Not to mention that Pluto is on the Midheaven within a degree at the time when trade opens. Both the midheaven and Pluto are at the last and first degrees of a sign. Pluto is at 29 Capricorn and the Midheaven on opening day is at 0 Aquarius, where Pluto will be a week from then. This is the last warning for deep, deep changes that need to be made in our finance sector, specifically where government is involved.

Odds and ends:

It was also pointed out to me that March 16th may have a significance by a medium colleague of mine. They foresaw flooding on the Eastern Seaboard and in the Indian Ocean. I’ll admit, with Uranus in the 12th at the start of business there could be a “dark horse” event – possible with Neptune and Pisces featuring strongly in the mix.

Regarding Saturn, he’s conjunct in sign only. That means he’s nowhere near the orb to be conjunct in degree. However, he and Pluto are both playing with the nodes (cue Beavis and Butthead laughter), so again, this is going to spell big uncertainties in the financial sector, especially since the nodes are in the sister signs of “yours, mine, and ours (material possessions),” Taurus and Scorpio. More signs that there will be some sort of financial reckoning this day.

I’ve been telling people since Saturn hopped signs – if you live in a coastal area, on a former swamp, or if where you live is near the ocean and as flat as a board, make sure your house is as flood-proof as possible. If you live in Florida, God bless you and make sure you have a high and dry bug-out location in case flooding is permanent. Stay tuned for my Saturn in Pisces survival guide.

Venus, the Silver Lining

Venus is also squaring both Pluto and the MC from 29 Aries – she’ll change sign later in the evening at 6:34. Venus is in the 12th at the start of the day, so there could be some aggressive optimism (denial) from some folks.

Despite the square Thursday, Venus is a silver lining this weekend. She will meet the North Node over the weekend in Taurus, giving us a renewed sense of purpose when it comes to our stuff. This weekend will be great for reorganizing for the long term.

As for me, it’s my seed starting weekend which I’ve been waiting for since fall. The garden starts with the dream, and my dream has a ton of heirloom plants that I can’t wait to grow and harvest.

In Sum - Starry recommendations

I recommend taking some time this week to make sure your finances are in order and your portfolio, savings, and budget are as recession-proof as possible. Even if nothing happens, it's always good to be prepared in case of a financial emergency. If you're a startup or work in tech, this could be a warning to be careful where and how you invest. I would also say this isn’t the time to sell, but I’m not an investment person, so talk to whoever manages your portfolio.

This starry recommendation will be more prevalent in the next year or two, but if you live in an area prone to flooding, check the foundation of your house and go over an emergency plan with your family regarding floods and tropical storms.

And take this weekend to reorganize your space that way you want it. Make it your dream space. Plant your garden, and I’ll see you soon!

I’ll be in Kalamazoo April 1-2, Livonia April 8, and New Baltimore April 15. Come on by and see me for astrology and tarot readings and to buy my witchy wares.
