The Full Moon in Taurus – Intellect and Emotional Exaltation

Needless to say, most of us have had a tough time with this retrograde. Besides the usual (lost emails and phone calls, travel delays, and hiccups in our commute), I’ve seen a lot of endings: layoffs, breakups, and falling outs with friendships. It’s natural; Scorpio is the sign of death, and since Mercury is sextiling Scorpio’s ruler, Pluto, we’re finding out uncomfortable truths which may result in these endings.

However, the bonus of retrograde is Cazimi, when the sun eclipses Mercury. It’s an auspicious time for intellectual manifestation, where Mercury brings his intellectual and communicative talent to the heart of the sun to shine on the world.

Even better news: this Cazimi will be during the full moon in Taurus.

The moon is exalted in Taurus, meaning its in its most creative place. Taurus is a feminine sign that brings beauty, order, and natural comfort to any planet that enters it. The moon, a feminine but emotionally unstable planet (plus, the planet that changes shape and sign the most frequently) finds harmonious stability in Taurus. With Taurus’s romantic nature and simple pleasures, the moon does wonderfully here.

And with the sun enveloping intelligent Mercury and the moon in its best sign, this full moon is a beautiful time for romance and a much-needed reprieve from all the difficult aspects we’ve been facing. People with planets in the middle of water and earth signs will receive the most benefit from this transit (15-21 degrees of their signs). People with planets 15-21 degrees Leo or Aquarius may find it easier to overcome challenges they face this weekend; the full moon with be forming a T-square with whatever planets you have in those positions, but because of Cazimi and the moon’s positive placements, these will present themselves as wonderful opportunities or be changes for the better.

Pay attention to where the moon and sun will be this time in your houses. If you’re Scorpio rising, this is a great time to find or reignite romance in your life, since the moon will be in your 7th house or near your 7H cusp. If you’re a Taurus rising, this is a wonderful time for self-care or revamping your appearance (this is the only time I will advise you to get bangs in a Mercury retrograde!) If you’re midheaven is in Taurus, this is a great time to put out feelers for a new job or go for that promotion at work. If your midheaven is Scorpio, now is the time to give a presentation or write a report, anything intellectual you do in your work or career goals will receive a boost!
