Saturn, Palindromes, and Finality

A couple interesting phenomena are happening this week. First, Saturn is stationing direct until the 18th, standing still in the middle of Tropical Capricorn. Second, from the tenth through the nineteenth of this month, the dates as Americans write them (MM/DD/YY) form palindromes, meaning they are the same backwards as they are forwards.

Before Saturn stations direct, it’s said that karmic endings, final partings, and closings of all kinds will rear their heads. Right now, it’s trining the personal planets and the sun, so it’s a great time to tie up loose ends. However, we’re also experiencing a T-square between the sun in Virgo, the fast-approaching Full Moon in Pisces (conjunct Neptune), and Jupiter in Sagittarius, so what’s coming and what we need to do can easily be muddied and unclear.

T-Squares either mean trouble or tenacity. In mutable signs, they point to challenges learning or trouble when it comes to clarity and focus. However, like with every square, it represents a mountain to climb; if you have any T-square in your chart, you have the drive to overcome this challenging aspect. Saturn stationing direct, as a taskmaster, can help us overcome the illusions that life may be throwing at us now, and sort out what we need to finish and what we need to keep enduring.

How? Throughout Saturn Retrograde, the planet of boundaries nudges us to reflect on what we put up with from others, how we treat ourselves, and how we teach the rest of the world to treat us. Are you boundaries strong enough for you to say no to toxic people, not take on too much, or rise to what you’re truly capable of achieving? Last summer was the time to take stock. Now is the time to start implementing.

Bringing us to palindromes.

It’s a fitting coincidence that Saturn is standing still the same week that the dates are the same backwards and forwards. I think we can reflect on how sometimes, going back and retracing what’s been working and what hasn’t can propel us further than we thought we could go. Also, that harder realities, like boundaries, karma, letting go, and hard work can be beneficial, even when they’re hard.

TL;DR: Don’t feel stuck this week! The work you’ve been doing is like an archer pulling back their bow. You’re about to launch!
