Now, about that full moon

As I’m typing, we have a full moon in Pisces, meaning we’re being challenged to think about how the mundane relates to the magical, how reality relates to dreams, and how the everyday relates to the extraordinary.

In some instances, this full moon could also highlight enemies, as Virgo and Pisces rule the sixth and twelfth house, highlighting public and secret enemies respectively. On a personal level, this is more likely to affect those of you with Aries or Libra rising, as the luminaries tonight will be “illuminating” those houses in your chart.

However, the full moon in Pisces isn’t the only opposition we have this week. Venus in lusty Scorpio is opposing Uranus in Taurus (where he absolutely hates being), so expect lovers, passion projects, and even your sense of life purpose to be upended this week. Bonus points: Mercury is in pre-shadow and about to do its last retrograde dance of the year, straining communication and ruining everyone’s day for the next three weeks.

As I’ve mentioned before, Mercury Rx is a nothing-burger at best and a bugaboo at its typical worst. I say typical because when he’s not playing nice with the Big Boys, like March 2020 (conjunct Neptune planet of illusions, disease, and viruses), that’s when things start getting really, really dour (lockdowns began, at least in the U.S.).

Also, we’re coming on fall Equinox, meaning the sun is entering fall. And not just the season in autumn; the sun is fallen in Libra.

The sun is about the self, the ego. Therefore, he’s happiest in Aries. When he’s in a sign like Libra which demands fairness and playing nice with others (after all, Libra’s motto is “I relate”), it’s not the end of the world, but it puts a little bit of a damper on Mr. Sun’s shine.

Luckily for us, this is all happening at the same time, but these oppositions aren’t relating to each other in a catastrophic manner, or any manner at all. If this full moon in Pisces happened earlier in the month, the luminaries may have formed a nice mystic rectangle with Venus and Uranus, enlightening us to new possibilities regarding innovation (particularly in finance and nature, albeit slowly because again, Uranus hates being in Taurus) and sexual lust and raw power. Granted, Venus isn’t terribly happy in Scorpio either because she’s in detriment, but she makes do given Scorpio’s carnal, sexual side.

However, this hypothetical rectangle is happening in another dimension where everyone’s aligned differently, not here. Thus, these oppositions are just happening like separate quarrels in a crowded room, so it’s just a bunch of noise we have to deal with right now.

Plus, a bunch of houses that ish is happening in through everyone’s charts. For example, Uranus and Venus are opposing each other right on my 6th and 12th house cusps. Uranus brings unexpected changes in health, job, and everyday routine (and there he will stay, crapping on everything until he kindly – or not-so-kindly if you look at history – toddles along into Gemini). Venus in my 12th is an unexpected exaltation, so may bring a positive change, at least in our subconscious and internal realm.

On that note, pro tip: if this Venus/Uranus opposition is happening in your 6th and 12th houses (looking at you, Gemini and fellow Sag risings), keep a journal by your beside and record ANY and ALL dreams you have tonight. The full moon in Pisces is giving you a double-whammy of dream energy. Use it!

For everyone though, I’ve compiled a handy guide for what to expect from all these oppositions and that dratted Mercury retrograde. For this, you need to know your birth time and what house each of these oppositions is falling in:

Full Moon in Pisces opposite Sun in Virgo

1H/7H: What illusions do you have about yourself or a close relationship? Have they or will they be revealed? Now’s the time where you’re discovering if you or if Mr./Ms./Mx “Right” is really “Wrong” . . . or if it’s you who’s the problem.

2H/8H: Time to get real about money! Yours, or someone else’s. The curtains are about to be lifted on who’s worth what.

3H/9H: This is a great position for getting creative writing done or planning trips!

4H/10H: Career and home matters are highlighted. In career matters and regarding your public image, you can find the chips are down. Similarly, any cracks in the white-picket-fence of your home and family are more visible now. Will you paint them over?

5H/11H: Do you rule or do you serve? This full moon in Pisces is illuminating your passion projects, but also the ways you can serve your peer group or you community.

6H/12H: With this placement, you really need to break out that dream journal and write down your dreams tonight. Conversely, keep your head on a swivel, as enemies may be revealed!

Venus opposite Uranus this week

1H/7H: get ready for some unexpected, steamy romance, whether you’re treating yourself or getting intimate in the bedroom. This is also a great time to treat your boo to a spa day or a glow-up. No boo? No problem! treat yourself to the surreal glow-up you deserve!

2H/8H: There may be an unexpected change in the value of your assets or your wealth at this time . . . or your partner’s or any inheritance you may receive.

3H/9H: Beware unexpected, spicy communications (dik-dik pics? No thanks!) on the crap side. On the good side, there could be an unexpected trip of your dreams heading to Y-O-U! – even if it’s just being planned right now.

4H/10H: Three words: Unexpected. Career. Change. Or an upending at home.

5H/11H: Expect the pecking order in your circle (or your children’s circle) to shift dramatically.

6H/12H: again, grab that dream journal and write, write, write! You may receive unexpected, albeit sensual dreams tonight.

Finally, everyone’s favorite . . .

Standard rules apply. If Mercury is wreaking havoc in your third or sixth house (looking at you, Leo and Taurus risings), you’re having a stereotypical mercury Rx season, with travel disrupted, short-term communications botched and everyday plans in the shredder.

Libra risings, do NOT cut your bangs this month! Aries risings, for the love of Ghod, DO NOT TEXT YOUR EX (or text them back)!!!!!

Virgo risings, no big spending. Same goes for Pisces risings (esp when it comes to inheritance, tax rebates, or Mom, Dad, or Sugar Boo’s moolah)!

Aquarius risings, no big travel or higher ed plans that haven’t already been made. Cap risings, this may suck, but expect some hiccups at work this month. Conversely, Cancer risings can expect broken appliances, leaky pipes, and leaky eyes at home. Gemini risings, don’t gamble. Sag risings, expect upsets in your peer group and gossip run amok.

Finally, Scorpio risings, cool off on the paranoia and keep a glass of warm milk at the ready for any weird dreams or nightmares this month.

Now that I’ve covered everyone, if we all go into October slowly, nicely, and don’t break anything, we should all have a fairly manageable time. Mmmkay?
