New Moon in Libra 2019

Happy belated solar return to all my Libran friends! The sun entered Tropical Libra last week and will be there through October 24. Mercury and Venus will also be in Libra until October 3rd and 8th respectively. Mars will join Libra on the 4th, but during this transit, it’s still in Virgo.

Thus, this new moon will be aided and abetted by communication and love energy.

Leading up to the new moon, it was a mixed bag. There were some good times to brainstorm and plan, particularly Tuesday, when the Leo moon sextiled the sun, and Thursday, when Virgo moon trined Uranus in Taurus. There were some bad times, like at the beginning of the week when the Cancer moon opposed Saturn and Pluto in late Capricorn, dousing water on our work. However, it was mostly a quiet time.

The new moon is here, and here’s what you need to know:

  1. Saturn will also be on the South Node, highlighting tradition and heritage. You may find that your family or your ancestry coming up at this time, or more conservative ideas coming into the forefront on the world stage.

  2. With the moon in Libra, there’s a T-square in Cardinal signs with the Nodes in Cancer and Capricorn. With Saturn there, we may have to push through to start working towards a goal in the face of emotions (moon), roadblocks (Saturn), or a transformative experience in how we’re looking at our problems (Pluto). Again, cardinal signs will be the most impacted.

  3. The moon will move over Mercury and Venus in Libra, and then waxing moon will conjunct Jupiter in Sag and finish next week conjunct Saturn in mid-Capricorn. Three of those planets are in rulership (at home in their own signs: Venus in Libra, Jupiter in Sag, and Saturn in Capricorn), so they’re dominant right now. This is an auspicious time to set plans relating to work and family as well as relationships.

Air signs will be positively affected, and people with Cardinal signs besides Libra will face the most challenges with this transit, especially if you have placements early in air or cardinal signs.

I know a lot of you are setting intentions for the next two weeks. May they be blessed through this waxing moon!
