Mercury Retrograde Halftime Show

Aspects we’ve been through and aspects to watch for: Pluto square Mercury. Sun and Mars conjunct (within 2-3 degrees) the entire month. Mercury will also trine Jupiter, and a good chunk of planets will go direct.

Due to a bunch of planets (and the nodes) going direct, (bonus points that Mercury is retrograde in tropical Libra) the motto for this retrograde: truth will out.

Welp, we’re into the thick of it now. Mercury stationed retrograde a couple weeks ago at 25 degrees tropical Libra which is squaring Pluto retrograde at . . . 24 degrees Capricorn.

I’ve mentioned in previous blogs that Mercury retrograde is a nothing-burger at best and a bugaboo at worst, but with a caveat: this gets upended if Mercury isn’t playing nice with the “Big Boys” and/or a malefic planet. And although Pluto is a dwarf planet, in western astrology, he’s considered one of the “Big Boys” . . . and not a particularly nice one.

Since 2008, Pluto has been sailing through Capricorn, upending institutions and our collective trust in them, specifically Big Gubmint and Big Money. Libra also covers these domains, specifically when it comes to justice, aka Da Lawman.

Meaning this could be the right time to find yourself on the wrong side of the law. Yikes!

On a less chilling note – or comforting, depending on which side of Da Lawman you’re on – we’re going to see relationship BS come out thanks to Libra. And here’s the thing: people think relationships and they think romantic love. Well, it’s broader than that. Libra governs one-on-one relationships, including boss-employee, friend-friend, parent-child. So expect setbacks, miscommunication, delays, and maybe even some spooky surprises in your personal relationships.

With the planets in the signs they’re in (especially since they’re also in the same signs in traditional Sidereal –although they don’t take Pluto into account in Vedic astrology, Mercury stationed retrograde at a critical degree: 0-1 degrees Sidereal Libra), expect trouble with the law, governments, and/or business and family relationships. Bonus advice: Do. Not. Speed. I repeat: DO. NOT. SPEED! Be extra careful on the roads anyways because it’s mercury retrograde, but keep an extra eye out for your neighborhood police.

And if you have made a bad decision or two, keep your head down and beg God for mercy until the end of the month.

However, today is a bit of a bright spot, and people can come out juuuust a lil bit because . . . Mercury is cazimi.

Cazimi is a special aspect that happens during Retrograde, where communication abilities are actually heightened. Therefore, if you want to shout your business from the mountaintops, today’s a good day to do it. Just don’t overdo it, as Mars will be there to add fuel to the fire (and he’s itching to – Mars dislikes being in Libra. Plus, he’s walking across the sky with the sun and the sun loathes being there).

That said, if you’re not the one communicating, expect some nasty revelations to come out around this time. They will ultimately be for your benefit and higher wisdom, but as Lizzo says, “truth hurts”. So keep some treats and blankets on hand and your favorite Netflix show on standby this weekend. If you need to have the hard conversations today, do it firmly, but gently, and don’t let your buttons get pushed!
