My morning starts when either my phone alarm of one of my gremlins wakes me up.

I scroll through the socials before I roll out of bed (follow me @childe.rowland.89 on Instagram) to see who liked my postings the night before. When I do put my feet on the hardwood floor, the gremlins call again and walk me to their bowls, whether they’re still full or not. I’ve learned this is because they love me and want to make sure I remember to eat.
And I do remember, because once I’m in my kitchen, I put the coffee pot on and extract whatever’s for breakfast: lately, it’s been tofu scramble with turmeric or flax seed pudding with berries. I eat while planning my day, and once I’m done and the dishes are away, I do a quick sun salutation before throwing on my clothes, dedicate some time to not smelling like a swamp (teeth brushed, deodorant on, all that good stuff), and I head to work, pre-made lunch and giant coffee mug in hand, because swamp witches are fueled by tons and tons of coffee.

If I have appointments early, I wipe down my station and set up so we’re ready to go when they walk through the door. If not, I write for a bit or I draw something up and see if anyone wants it inked on them. I keep doing this unless I get a walk-in (if or when I get walk-ins depends on the season and rotation that day). I nibble at lunch and take swigs of my swamp-witch juice (black coffee in a big mug) in the break room throughout the day. If I get a tattoo in, or finish a drawing, I post it on Insta.
I fly home and once I land, I whip something up for lunch the next day and nibble on a bit of it for dinner with a nice glass of wine or a vodka-coke. I work on a novel or finish a crochet project while watching YouTube or Netflix.
I hop on the bike for half an hour and then I hit the shower for karaoke/cleaning time. PJs on, I spend the rest of the night writing, crocheting, or goofing off until it’s time to hit the sack and start another day.
