5 Planets in Virgo

As I’m writing this blog, both luminaries (the sun and the new moon), Mercury, Venus, and Mars are in Virgo. This creates a powerful energy that’s particularly impacting people born in early Virgo (if you have a birthday around now), challenging people born in early Sagittarius, Gemini, or Pisces (if you were born in the last week of November, May, or February), and giving a boost to people born in early Cancer, Scorpio, Capricorn, or Taurus (this grouping of planets, called a stellium, is trining or sextiling their natal suns in the last week of June, October, December, or April respectively). Speaking of Taurus, the luminaries and the five planets are currently trining Uranus who is five degrees in the aforementioned sign.
What does this mean? Virgo is the sign of physical home and health. She is organized, diligent, and planning ahead. Like Cancer, she is mothering, but not in a warm, nurturing way. She’s the mom who makes sure you’re doing everything by the book and doesn’t care if she has to be cold to get you to do it! Mutable earth, she seems like a contradiction: with the ability to rise to the situation and go with the flow, but with the grounded rigidity of the earth element, she becomes practical and analytical at best, frozen and insecure at worst. At their lowest, Virgo is nitpicky and judgmental.
Therefore, this a great time to plan ahead and organize. Finalize your long-term goals for the year or plan to put them in motion. Mercury is in rulership (at home), and in exaltation (its most creative and expressive placement) in Virgo, so this a great time for career and travel plans, and being in Virgo, it’s a great time to set and carry out health goals.
However, this is not the best time for love. Venus is fallen in Virgo, opposing her exaltation sign, Pisces. Venus in Virgo is a practical, but cold and over-analyzing lover. You may find yourself second-guessing romantic decisions or needlessly going over every detail. Take stock of your situation – Virgo is great at uncovering details – but wait until Venus moves into its rulership in Libra later this before making any big decisions on your love life.
Trining Uranus, this is a great time to change course, so if you’re thinking of a career change, this is the time to set it in motion, same with new diets, exercise routines, or anything else that requires analysis and detail-planning. For specifics, check your chart and see either a) where Virgo energy falls in your chart, and/or b) what planets aspect this rare and powerful stellium.
